On Friday, April 13th, The Door Church is partnering with Numana Inc., an international hunger relief organization, and local sponsors to provide meals for people in need. This community event empowers people to serve the hungry through hands-on food packaging. With the help of community volunteers, our goal is to box over 21,000 meals for Numana to send to those in need. This year, Numana has partnered with Africa New Life Ministries, a Christ-centered organization working to restore their country after the genocide occurred in 1990, to send food to a city called Rubavu in Africa. This event allows TDC to practice our desire to be other people focused, and is a great service opportunity for families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
T-shirts will be on sale for $20 during weekend gatherings to help fundraise for the Numana food packing event. Every shirt provides 40 meals for the event!
We are in need of 150 food packaging volunteers as well as 16 “Green Shirt” volunteers, made up of 12 table coordinators to help lead groups and 4 runners to transfer full food boxes from tables to the loading area. This is an event that helps us intentionally practice our hope to be other people-focused, and is a great opportunity for families and life groups to join in serving people in need.
