Baptism Weekend

WHAT IS BAPTISM?

Baptism is an outward sign of faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. It is an act of worship and obedience to the command of Jesus, declaring the believer’s faith in and identification with their crucified, buried, and risen Savior. Baptism does not save and is not “necessary” for salvation.

WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?

If someone has made a genuine profession of faith, then he or she should be baptized. We encourage you to follow Christ’s command to be baptized as a public profession of your faith in Him. We would love to walk with you through considering this opportunity to announce the change that has taken place in your life, and proclaim that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. If you haven’t made a commitment to Jesus, we would still love to hear from you to answer any questions you may have and help you to learn more about what it means to be a Christian.

HOW CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT BAPTISM?

We celebrate two Baptism Services a year–one Easter weekend and another October 13th-14th. Several weeks before each, we have an optional Baptism Class where those interested have the opportunity to meet with pastors and leaders who will walk with you as you consider baptism. This class does not obligate you, but allows you to explore and learn the meaning of baptism.
